Gumball Machine Locks and Lost Keys: Identify the Model Before Ordering

Beaver top-lock and bottom-lock listings show why the brand, model and lock position matter in a replacement request.

If you have lost a gumball machine key, identify the machine before buying a replacement. A photograph of a similar lock is not enough to establish the correct key number or part. The useful starting information is the manufacturer, model and location of the lock on the machine.

Beaver Machine Corporation's public parts pages, checked on 8 November 2026, give a concrete example of the replacement process. These are third-party parts references, not WEIMI spare-part specifications or evidence that Beaver locks fit WEIMI equipment.

For a direct purchase, ask about the recorded key number

The official S2 Top Lock page says Beaver offers many different key numbers and that its keys are constructed for Beaver machines exclusively. For a machine bought directly from Beaver, the manufacturer says a key number will be on file and asks the owner to contact it directly.

That makes the original purchase route relevant. Before ordering a complete lock, tell the manufacturer that you are the owner and that the machine was purchased directly. Provide the purchase and machine references it requests through its normal support process. Ask whether the recorded information identifies a replacement key for the installed lock. The page does not establish that one Beaver key opens every Beaver machine.

For a second-hand machine, confirm the brand and model

For machines purchased through a third party, Beaver asks the buyer to confirm the machine is a Beaver and to identify the model. Its page points to the Beaver name on the coin-mechanism handle and lid, and directs buyers to the product catalogue for model identification.

Check the actual machine rather than relying only on a second-hand sale title. Give support the requested identifying photographs and the model information you can verify. If the key cannot be identified, the S2 listing describes purchasing a replacement lock and key. Ask the manufacturer to confirm that route for your particular model before placing an order.

Separate the top lock from the bottom lock

The same parts catalogue has a separate A2000 Bottom Lock ONLY listing. A search for gumball machine locks can therefore return different parts from the same manufacturer. State which lock location you need and request the exact part reference.

The A2000 page title says Bottom Lock ONLY, while its description discusses a replacement lock and key. Ask the supplier to confirm the supplied contents and key quantity on the quotation. Do not assume a title alone establishes whether keys or other fitting components are included.

The S2 page also explicitly says that the lock is not meant for Meridian machines. This exclusion matters even when two products carry the same manufacturer name. Ask for model compatibility in writing rather than treating brand identification as the final fit check.

Keep the replacement request specific

A useful request explains who supplied the machine, its confirmed brand and model, the lock position and the problem: a missing key, an unidentified key number or a damaged component. Ask which replacement reference is appropriate, what is included and which authorised installation instructions apply.

If the machine cannot be opened normally, request the manufacturer's service route. This article identifies the procurement information; it does not provide lock-entry or removal instructions. Keep detailed key references in the operation's authorised records.

For a snack or drink cabinet with a different locking arrangement, our plug-lock and T-handle replacement comparison explains another parts distinction. Its fit references should not be transferred to a gumball machine.

For WEIMI equipment, send the machine reference and describe the support or new-equipment requirement so the supported supply can be confirmed. Get My Custom Quote. A third-party lock listing does not establish WEIMI availability or compatibility.
