Commercial Iced Coffee Machine or Concentrate Dispenser? Check What Goes In
When comparing a commercial iced coffee machine, ask what enters the equipment. Does it brew from coffee, dispense an already prepared drink, or mix a liquid concentrate with water? All can lead to a cold cup, but they require different supplies and staff tasks.
Two public BUNN references, checked on 8 November 2026, make the distinction concrete. They describe third-party equipment and are not WEIMI product specifications or confirmed integrations. The purpose is to help a buyer request the correct process rather than choose by the words cold coffee alone.
A concentrate dispenser starts with a supplied coffee product
BUNN's North America US listing for the NITRON Cold Draft Countertop 4:1–12:1, item 51600.0016, says it serves coffees or teas using two one-gallon ball-valve concentrate bag-in-box packs or BUNN refillable containers. The listed arrangement serves one nitro drink and one still drink.
That description makes the concentrate an input, not a result of grinding and brewing beans inside this dispenser. Ask your beverage supplier and equipment provider to confirm the approved concentrate, pack connection and recipe for the proposed configuration. A nominal pack volume alone does not establish how many finished cups your chosen serving will produce.
The product title includes a ratio range, but that is not a recipe instruction for any coffee you happen to buy. Obtain the supported product and setup information before calculating ingredient requirements. A refillable container option also does not make every beverage suitable for the machine.
A brewer makes the coffee before it is served
BUNN's Cold Brew Mode overview describes a different route. The Infusion Series Platinum Edition can brew batches of concentrate or finished-strength cold brew using its brewing technology, pulse brew and a lower range of brewing temperatures.
The page describes a software upgrade converting applicable existing Infusion Series Platinum Edition equipment into a dedicated cold brew machine. That statement belongs to that product family. It is not evidence that any existing coffee vending machine can gain cold brew preparation through a menu or software change.
For this route, ask who prepares the recipe, brews the batch, handles the finished coffee and cleans the equipment. Confirm the manufacturer's instructions for the actual model. The overview's claim of brewing in minutes is based on BUNN's internal testing; it is not a brewing time measured by WEIMI or a guarantee for your recipe.
Read serving capacity with its test conditions
The NITRON item 51600.0016 page says that, at a rate of one 16-ounce drink per minute, it can dispense 60 drinks before exceeding 41°F, with 75°F incoming water. Keep all those conditions attached to the number when assessing a proposal.
This is not an unconditional promise of 60 drinks at any serving rate or inlet temperature. Nor does it establish an entire day's output or recovery time after that sequence. Give the supplier your expected cup size, serving pattern and water conditions, and ask for the corresponding capacity evidence.
For comparison with a brewing system, identify the time needed to prepare the next batch as well as the time needed to pour a cup. Batch preparation and cold dispensing capacity answer different questions.
Specify the complete counter service
The same NITRON listing states that its gas module is not included and a tank regulator is required. It gives a dispense-area allowance for cups and carafes up to 8.76 inches tall. These are useful quotation details, but they do not specify every part of an installed beverage station.
Ask who supplies the approved gas arrangement for nitro service, the water connection, the intended cup and any ice required by the menu. Request the manufacturer's cleaning and installation documentation. Separately specify how the customer orders and pays; a beverage tap does not establish an unattended vending transaction.
