Wine Vending Machine or Back-Bar Dispenser? Specify Who Starts Each Pour

Use a documented wine-by-the-glass model to separate staff service, customer activation and the equipment included in a quote.

A request for a wine vending machine should explain who starts each pour. Is a member of staff serving wine behind a bar, or does a customer use an authorised card to serve themselves? A refrigerated dispenser can appear in either workflow, but the access, payment and support arrangements differ.

This review uses Wineemotion's QUATTRO SELF documentation, checked on 8 November 2026, to show the questions a buyer should resolve. The example is third-party equipment, not a WEIMI specification or a confirmed WEIMI integration.

One model, different activation arrangements

The official QUATTRO SELF page describes a four-bottle dispenser. Its use-and-activation section lists behind-the-bar operation without a wine card, or self-service with a wine card using chip or RFID, or a barcode reader. The page marks RFID capability as optional.

For a staff-service proposal, ask how staff select and release the serving. For self-service, ask who issues the customer's credential, what it authorises and how that permission ends. A wine card is not automatically a bank-card terminal, and a reader's presence does not define how money is collected.

Wineemotion's self-service series page describes Wineidea software for managing dispensers and transactions. It also describes integration possibilities through its REST API. That is a reason to ask for the exact supported arrangement, not evidence that any chosen POS or WEIMI system will connect without further work.

Specify the serving choices

The QUATTRO SELF specification lists up to three pour volumes operated through mechanical buttons. It does not give the actual volumes for your proposed service. Ask the supplier to state the configured serving sizes and how each option maps to the displayed selection and transaction record.

A four-bottle description identifies the number of bottles in the model; it is not a number of customer servings. The amount available depends on the wine loaded and the configured pours. Request a demonstration with the actual menu and serving options rather than calculating a sales forecast from the bottle count alone.

Read temperature and gas scope together

The model page gives a temperature-setting range of 6°C to 22°C. Treat that as the published setting range for this model. Ask the supplier to confirm the arrangement for your wine selection and site conditions; do not infer independently controlled temperatures from a general range.

The gas specification identifies nitrogen or food-grade argon and states that the cylinder or generator is not included. This is a material quotation boundary. Request the complete approved gas-supply arrangement, installation responsibilities and operating instructions before comparing equipment prices.

The page discusses wine preservation, but this article does not establish a preservation period for your wines or operating routine. Obtain the applicable instructions and evidence from the provider rather than treating a general marketing claim as a guarantee for every opened bottle.

Compare the installed service, not just the cabinet

The published QUATTRO SELF dimensions are 528 millimetres wide, 632 millimetres high and 398 millimetres deep, with a weight of 42 kilograms. These figures belong to that model. They do not establish the complete installed space or support requirements once gas equipment, glasses and service access are included.

Ask the supplier to show bottle replacement, the required cleaning routine and customer assistance for an interrupted serving. Separately confirm the permissions, age checks and supervision required for the actual venue with the appropriate local advisers. A self-service activation feature does not by itself settle those operating requirements.

If the request is for a sealed product rather than wine poured into a glass, our drink dispensing and bottle vending comparison explains the different handover. Keep that physical requirement clear before choosing a machine category.

Send WEIMI your intended serving format, site, customer journey and required integration. Ask which equipment and functions can be confirmed for that scope. Get My Custom Quote without assuming that a third-party wine dispenser's features are available on a WEIMI machine.
