If you are buying a touch screen for a vending machine, first ask whether the quote is for a monitor or a touchscreen computer. A monitor provides the display and touch interface. A touchscreen computer also includes computing hardware. The distinction determines whether you still need a separate host to run the customer application.
The same screen size can appear in very different assemblies. A quotation described only as a touchscreen leaves the computing and software scope unresolved.
Elo's official 0764L open-frame touchscreen page, reviewed on 8 November 2026, describes a 7-inch touchscreen monitor intended for integration into enclosures. It states that power, video and touch can use a single USB-C cable.
The same page describes a separate Elo Backpack Android compute engine that connects to the display through USB-C and can be mounted inside a kiosk. That is a useful example of the distinction: the monitor and the computing device are separate components, even when one cable connects them.
This is a documented Elo configuration. It does not establish that every USB-C monitor supports the same connections, that this model fits a vending cabinet, or that WEIMI uses Elo hardware.
Elo's touchscreen computer category describes products that combine processing with multi-touch displays. It lists Android, Windows and Linux touchscreen computer groups, as well as separate computing products.
For a vending purchase, ask the supplier to name the proposed assembly and operating system. An integrated computer is not automatically a complete vending control system. Confirm which device runs the customer interface and how that application communicates with the machine controller and payment equipment.
Software availability is a separate question from the presence of a processor. Ask whether the quoted assembly arrives with the agreed application installed and configured, or whether deployment is a separate task.
If you want to retain an existing host, identify it alongside the proposed monitor. Ask the supplier to confirm the supported video and touch connections. Our display signal and adapter review explains why matching connector names alone does not settle compatibility.
If the proposal replaces the computing hardware as well, request a written software handover scope. Name the application configuration, required connections and party responsible for returning the machine to the agreed customer workflow. Do not assume the old software can simply be moved to another operating system or computer.
List the supplied monitor or integrated unit, any separate host, power supply, cables, mounting parts and software work. This makes two quotations comparable without treating a screen-only price as the price of a complete replacement.
Ask to see the agreed hardware run the intended interface. Check picture output and touch response separately; a visible menu does not prove that customer input reaches the correct application. The touch input mapping guide covers that specific check.
Then follow an agreed customer transaction on the proposed machine configuration. Record the host and display references used in the demonstration and any work still outstanding. These are suggested purchasing checks, not tests performed for this article.
For a WEIMI enquiry, send the machine reference, screen and host labels, connection photographs and the reason for replacement. State whether you want to keep the existing computer or request a complete supported assembly. Get My Custom Quote with that scope so the available configuration can be confirmed before ordering.
