An EU energy-label image is useful only when the buyer can connect it to the equipment being quoted. A sales photograph may show an attractive efficiency class while the offer uses a different model name. Before approving refrigerated vending equipment, ask for the label, its QR-linked record and the product information sheet for the proposed model.
The European Commission’s commercial-refrigerator guidance covers refrigerating appliances with a direct sales function and discusses spiral vending machines. It explains that the energy-label scale runs from A to G and provides information including efficiency class, energy consumption, compartment volume or display area, and temperature.
That does not make every vending format interchangeable. An ambient snack dispenser, a refrigerated drinks cabinet and a machine that processes food require different scope questions. Ask the supplier to identify the applicable product category and supporting documents for the exact proposal. Do not select a label merely because its cabinet image looks similar.
The Commission explains that the QR code on the energy label gives access to more detailed model information in the European Product Registry for Energy Labelling, or EPREL. Use that route to connect the label image to a record rather than relying on an efficiency adjective in a brochure.
Keep the record link with the quotation. Compare the supplier or brand identification and complete model designation with the offer, label and product information sheet. If a distributor uses a private sales name or a shortened code, request a written explanation connecting that designation to the documented model. A similar name is a question to resolve, not proof of a match.
Request the product information sheet alongside the label. The Commission’s supplier guidance describes both electronic labels and electronic product information sheets being made available to dealers. These documents give purchasing staff a clearer reference than a cropped label image.
Read the fields relevant to the equipment category. Compare the stated annual energy consumption with the machine’s size and temperature information, rather than treating the efficiency letter alone as a complete equipment comparison. Record the document date and any unexplained difference between the offer and the source record.
A labelled annual figure is also different from a promise about the electricity bill at your site. For that separate budgeting task, see our guide to comparing vending energy evidence. Keep site assumptions and operating conditions visible when estimating costs.
Before accepting the proposal, retain the agreed model designation, record link, label and information sheet together. Ask the supplier how any proposed model substitution or configuration change affects that evidence. At delivery, compare the supplied model identification with the approved order documents and resolve discrepancies through the responsible supplier.
This is a document-checking workflow, not a finding that a particular WEIMI machine is registered, compliant or eligible for every EU project. A public record does not answer installation suitability, payment integration, product fit or service coverage. Obtain those answers separately.
