Vending Card Reader Has Weak Signal? Review the Antenna Before Ordering a Replacement

Match the terminal connector, mounting method and cable route to the exact accessory.

When a vending payment terminal has weak cellular reception, the phrase “high-gain antenna” is not enough to place a replacement order. Start with the terminal model and the antenna connection. Then check how the accessory mounts and whether its cable can reach the approved mounting position.

Nayax’s official Canadian shop provides a useful example of why these details belong in the order. Its antenna accessory range lists a magnetic tower, high-gain options and a connector adaptor. These are different accessory descriptions, not proof that every item fits every Nayax terminal or every WEIMI configuration.

Identify the terminal and the existing connector

Record the exact terminal model and the existing antenna part reference if available. Photograph the connection and the current installation for the payment-equipment supplier. Ask that supplier to confirm the proposed replacement part against the actual terminal.

The shop describes its External Antenna Tower, SKU M100001, as connecting to VPOS Touch through an MMCX connector. It also lists a separate adaptor described as MMCX female to SMA female. Connector names and connector ends therefore matter. The existence of an adaptor does not establish that an arbitrary antenna becomes suitable for your terminal.

Compare mounting and reach, not only the product name

The tower listing describes a magnetic mount and a 3 m cable, also expressed as 10 ft. The Antenna 4G – 06ft listing describes a 6 ft high-gain MMCX antenna installed on top of the machine, for weak signal and secure installation. Those statements support checking the accessory’s intended placement and physical route.

Before ordering, show the supplier the intended mounting location and cable route. Ask whether the quoted part provides the required reach and an appropriate mounting arrangement for that cabinet. Have any installation work follow the equipment instructions. This article does not authorize drilling a cabinet or specify an installation procedure.

Keep a weak-signal report separate from a failed-payment report

Tell support what you actually observe: a signal indication, a disconnected terminal, or a payment error. Include when and where the symptom occurs and the current antenna arrangement. A failed payment alone does not establish that the antenna is the cause.

A high-gain accessory listing is also not a guarantee of service at a particular site. The cited pages do not establish your carrier coverage, the condition of the installed equipment, or a measured improvement after replacement. Ask the supplier which checks should precede a purchase and how the replacement will be evaluated at the real location.

Make the quotation specific

Request a part reference, confirmed terminal compatibility, connector details, cable length, mounting method and any separately required adaptor. Confirm what is supplied in your own order. The Canadian tower listing says it is included in the VPOS Touch set; that regional shop statement does not define the contents of a WEIMI quotation or a different terminal bundle.

If the uncertainty concerns activation or recurring data service, use our SIM connectivity and active service guide. An antenna order and an active service arrangement require separate confirmation.

For a new WEIMI project, share the destination, proposed payment terminal and installation context so the supplied configuration can be reviewed. Get My Custom Quote.
