Coffee Vending Cup Columns: More Capacity or Different Cup Formats?

Confirm which cup formats a dispensing system supports before treating storage columns as menu choices.

More cup columns do not, by themselves, tell a buyer how many cup formats a coffee vending machine can dispense. Ask whether the quoted hardware stores more of the same approved cup or supports several formats, and identify the version that provides the required behaviour.

This matters when planning a menu with different drink sizes or different cup designs. The drink menu, cup stock and dispensing mechanism need an agreed configuration.

A documented multi-format example

Necta’s Barista 600 Touch page, reviewed on 9 November 2026, says some models have the Multicup dispensing system. It describes five rotating columns that allow dispensing in up to five cup formats, with differences in size, material and graphics.

The same page lists ordinary and Multicup product variants separately. Its wording is specific: “some” models and “up to” five formats. It does not establish that every Barista 600 Touch has this arrangement, or that any five cups selected by a buyer will work.

This is a third-party equipment example, not confirmation of a WEIMI multi-format cup dispenser. Use it to make a precise request rather than assuming that another machine with several cup columns works the same way.

Distinguish storage from customer choice

A cup count describes stocked consumables. A format count describes the supported types of cup. Neither figure alone explains which cup the machine will use for each drink.

Request the exact cup supplier references and an allocation showing what each column holds. Then ask the supplier to show which drink or size uses which approved cup. If you intend to repeat a popular cup across several columns, ask whether the proposed configuration supports that arrangement and how it is managed.

Different graphics can be a format distinction without necessarily changing drink volume. Different nominal cup capacities also do not establish the programmed serving quantity. Keep the cup reference, intended fill quantity and drink recipe in the same approval record.

Confirm the variant before comparing capacity

Ask for the full model and dispensing-system name on the quotation. Where a range includes both ordinary and multi-format versions, have the supplier identify the offered version in its specification and demonstration.

Do not apply a family-level capacity figure to every cup mixture. Ask for the supported stock quantity with your approved allocation and whether any hardware change is needed. The public description reviewed here does not establish capacity for every possible combination.

Our cup and lid compatibility guide covers the separate approval of actual consumables. A multi-format system still needs that review for each intended cup and closure combination.

What should the demonstration answer?

Have the supplier load the agreed cup references and demonstrate the proposed drink-to-cup assignments. Record the equipment version, cup allocation and observed serving process. Ask what happens when one required cup format is unavailable and which actions need staff.

Confirm any required menu restriction or alternative-cup behaviour directly; the presence of multiple columns does not prove automatic substitution. Likewise, a multi-cup dispenser does not by itself establish support for customer-supplied cups, cup detection or an automatic lid system.

Prepare a clear equipment enquiry

Send WEIMI the drink list, serving quantities, cup references, required formats and intended stock allocation. Explain whether your priority is more stock of one cup or a choice of formats. Ask for confirmation of available hardware, approved consumables and a demonstration before treating the requirement as supported. Get My Custom Quote.
