How Much Does a Vending Machine Weigh? Compare the Exact Configuration

Two 72-inch-high cabinets can have different shipping weights; keep the model, options and weight definition together.

A vending machine does not have one standard weight. For two concrete examples, Vending.com lists a shipping weight of 431 lb (195.5 kg) for its Wittern 23-selection snack and candy machine, and 691 lb (313.4 kg) for its Wittern 24-selection compact snack and drink combination machine. Both figures carry configuration caveats.

These are published specifications for particular third-party models, checked on 8 November 2026. They are not an industry average, an independently measured shipment or a weight specification for WEIMI equipment.

Similar cabinet size does not mean similar weight

The Wittern 23-selection snack machine specification lists a height of 72 inches, width of 29.3 inches and depth of 34.75 inches. Its shipping-weight entry is 431 lb, with the note that this varies with options.

The compact snack and drink combination specification also lists a 72-inch height. Its width is 29.5 inches and depth is 38 inches. The published shipping weight is 691 lb, varying with tray configuration and options. This model’s specification also lists a refrigeration system.

The height is the same and the listed widths differ by only 0.2 inch, yet the published shipping weights differ by 260 lb. That comparison is a reason to check the exact model. It is not a formula for estimating weight from width, or proof that one component accounts for the entire difference.

Keep the shipping label attached to the number

Both examples label the figure Shipping Weight. Do not silently relabel it as empty cabinet weight, loaded operating weight or the confirmed weight of the package arriving at your address. Ask the supplier what its published figure includes.

For the actual order, request the configured equipment weight and the final packed weight for each handling unit. Ask whether the crate, pallet, payment hardware and separately supplied accessories are included. If components arrive in separate packages, record their individual weights rather than assuming the cabinet figure describes the whole consignment.

The option notes matter. A catalogue figure with a configuration caveat is useful during shortlisting, but the supplier should confirm the data for the version you purchase. Keep that confirmation with the model code and quotation revision.

Product capacity is not a loaded-weight figure

A specification showing how many items a cabinet can hold does not tell you how much those items weigh. The planned assortment and actual fill level are needed to establish the merchandise contribution. Do not multiply capacity by an invented average product weight and present the result as a supplier rating.

If a property team needs the weight in service, provide the confirmed machine configuration and the intended stocked condition for its assessment. A shipping-weight entry alone does not establish floor suitability, anchoring requirements or the appropriate handling equipment.

Use the right figure for the next decision

For an early shortlist, compare model-specific published weights with their labels and caveats visible. For a delivery booking, obtain the final package data and supplier handling information. For a site review, clarify the installed configuration and intended stocked condition with the responsible parties.

For unloading equipment, our forklift capacity and load-center guide explains why a nominal capacity greater than a cabinet’s weight is not enough by itself. This article does not select a forklift, approve a lift or provide moving instructions.

When requesting WEIMI equipment, identify the products, required capacity, temperature control, payment configuration and destination. Ask for weight and packing data for that particular proposal rather than using another manufacturer’s numbers. Get My Custom Quote.
