A smart vending machine lock proposal should explain where the lock gets its power and what its access record means. An electronic cylinder is not automatically a cabinet-powered device, and an audit record is not automatically a live remote alert. Ask for the architecture of the actual proposed system.
On its vending machine locks page, Medeco describes Intelligent Key cylinders whose operating power resides in the key. The manufacturer states that no wiring is required for these cylinders. It also describes electronic access control, scheduling and audit accountability.
This is Medeco's published product description. It does not establish that every electronic vending lock uses the same design or that WEIMI supplies this system. When comparing a proposal, ask whether the power source is in the key, the cylinder or another component, and which items are included in the supply.
Medeco says its Intelligent cylinders fit existing NAMA standard T-handles and its own stainless steel T-handles. That is a stated interface scope, not evidence that an unidentified handle on your machine is compatible. Provide the installed handle and cylinder references and obtain a match for the exact proposed parts.
Ask who will assess the hardware and carry out the approved installation. A cylinder replacement, a complete handle replacement and a change to the cabinet are different quotation scopes. Our plug lock and T-handle replacement guide explains that parts distinction. This review provides no removal or entry procedure.
The Medeco page identifies electronic scheduling as an Intelligent Key function. For a fleet enquiry, describe which authorised service roles need access to which cabinet groups and during which working periods. Have the proposed supplier show how that requirement is represented in its system.
Request a demonstration of a permitted service visit and a visit outside the agreed permission or schedule. Define the process for updating a worker's access when their assignment changes. These are proposed acceptance checks, not tests already completed on a WEIMI machine or on your installed fleet.
Medeco describes tracking openings and attempted openings of the cylinder. Before buying, ask which events the offered system records, how the records are retrieved and when an authorised manager can review them. The reviewed page does not establish that your proposed configuration sends every event to a remote dashboard immediately.
Also distinguish the recorded cylinder event from a completed refill or a correct stock count. Those operational outcomes need their own records. A lock audit should be evaluated against the event it actually captures rather than treated as proof of the whole service visit.
For a WEIMI equipment or support enquiry, send the machine identification, installed hardware references and intended service-access requirements. Ask which supported lock configuration, keys, management components and documentation can be quoted. Confirm compatibility and reporting scope for that proposal: Get My Custom Quote.
