Two Tanks in a Milk Vending Machine: Reserve Supply or Two Products?

Automatic tank changeover and a choice of two liquids describe different operating requirements.

A milk vending machine with two tanks may use the second tank as reserve supply for the same offer, or it may be configured for two different liquids. Ask which arrangement is quoted before treating tank count as the number of products customers can choose.

A public supplier page illustrates the distinction. Its descriptions concern the named equipment and variants; they do not confirm a two-tank bulk milk system for WEIMI.

What does automatic changeover mean in the example?

The Milk Station Company’s milk-station range, reviewed on 9 November 2026, describes a refrigerated MOD 400 holding up to two 200-litre tanks. In its automatic-changeover description, the supplier says the machine draws one tank empty before switching to the other and keeps the spare tank agitated and ready.

This describes a supply sequence. It does not, on its own, establish that the customer can select between the tanks. If your purpose is to maintain the same milk offer when the first tank empties, ask the supplier to identify the required changeover variant and explain its operating conditions.

Two liquids are a separate requirement

The same page has a separate “Bi Fluid” description for offering different liquid types, with examples such as whole and semi-skimmed milk or cow’s and goat’s milk. It also says the MOD 400 has several variants and can have two dosing areas with different functionality.

Do not combine these descriptions into an assumption that every two-tank machine offers both automatic reserve changeover and two customer-selectable products. Request the exact variant and a written account of the offered selections, dosing areas and supply sequence.

The page does not provide enough detail to declare whether every product path, outlet or cleaning circuit is independent. If separation matters to your intended offer, have the supplier identify the complete product-contact arrangement and its documented operating limits.

Write the required behaviour in plain language

For reserve supply, describe one product and ask what happens when its active tank empties. For a two-product offer, name each liquid and ask how the customer selects it, which tank supplies it and how staff identify the correct connection during replenishment.

Ask how an unavailable tank affects the menu and payment process. Confirm what the operator sees and which actions require staff. These are questions for the offered system, not functions established by tank capacity alone.

Include tank handling in the equipment review

The supplier says the MOD 400 tanks have wheels and can be cleaned away from the machine. For your site, review the route between dispensing equipment and the approved cleaning area with the supplier. Ask about the filled and empty tank handling requirements and the documented disconnection process.

This is a procurement check, not a cleaning procedure. The responsible food business must approve the actual milk-handling and cleaning process. No universal cleaning interval, product shelf life or approval for raw-milk sales follows from the public equipment description.

Our milk vending format guide covers the earlier choice between sealed bottles and dispensing into containers. The two-tank decision belongs within the bulk system’s separately assessed product-contact and control arrangement.

What belongs in the quotation?

Request the exact model and variant, supplied tank quantity and size, intended liquid allocation, changeover behaviour and customer selections. Include the supported handling process, supplier documentation and any unresolved separation requirements.

For a WEIMI enquiry, first explain whether the project sells sealed packs or requires bulk dispensing. If bulk dispensing with reserve tanks or multiple liquids is essential, ask whether that configuration is available and request direct supporting evidence. Do not assume equivalence with the supplier example. Get My Custom Quote.
