Pausing a Drink Vending Location: Plan Stock Removal and Restart

A closure checklist for seasonal operations without invented shutdown instructions.

A seasonal location may stop operating while stock, equipment and service responsibilities remain. Plan the pause with the operator and equipment supplier instead of treating a closed building as an ordinary quiet sales period.

Decide what happens to stock

Review product instructions and relevant dates before closure. Assign responsibility for removal, transfer or other authorized disposition. Do not leave temperature-sensitive products dependent on an unmonitored arrangement that the operator has not approved.

Reconcile removed stock separately from sales and identify any outstanding customer cases. Keep the physical count and operational records understandable to the person who returns later.

Follow the model's instructions

Obtain the manufacturer's shutdown, storage and restart requirements for the specific equipment. Confirm who performs authorized tasks and who maintains site access. Do not assume that switching off power is the correct procedure for every cabinet.

Record service work or unresolved issues that must be addressed before reopening. Keep the support contact available to the site team.

Reopen deliberately

Use the required inspection and commissioning procedure, approve the current assortment and restore customer information. Confirm payment readiness with the responsible parties where applicable. Include seasonal operation in the original WEIMI brief so the proposed equipment can be evaluated against the location's actual calendar.
