Vending Location Fees: Compare Rent and Revenue Share

Define the sales base before comparing percentages.

Read the calculation

A fixed charge and a share of sales behave differently when demand changes. Ask which receipts enter the calculation and how refunds or taxes are treated. Identify the reporting and reconciliation responsibilities. A percentage without a defined base is not a complete cost term.

Check the low-volume case

A fixed charge continues when sales weaken. A percentage proposal may also include a minimum payment or other fixed obligation. Use several clearly labeled sales assumptions and apply the entire proposed calculation to each one.

Compare responsibilities

Record who supplies utilities, provides access and maintains the surrounding area. Apply the same task boundary across offers. A lower location fee may accompany less support. Obtain appropriate advice on contractual obligations; a cost comparison does not establish whether an agreement is legally suitable for the business.
