Spreading a fixed project charge across more machines changes its allocated cost per unit. It does not prove that the supplier will reduce the equipment price. Keep those two effects separate when evaluating a custom vending rollout.
For planning, divide the agreed fixed project charges by the number of units in the scenario, then add the quoted repeat unit price. Label this as an allocation calculation. Include only fixed charges that actually apply to that scenario.
Ask whether the configuration, delivery scope or commercial terms change at each proposed quantity. A larger batch can alter packing, transport and support arrangements. Compare those effects alongside the equipment total instead of assuming every line scales evenly.
A pilot followed by several smaller orders may not have the same terms as one production commitment. Ask whether the development scope and repeat price remain valid and for how long. Use the quantity the buyer is prepared to commit to, rather than an optimistic future fleet, when describing the immediate purchase budget.
