A specification saying “40 lockers” does not tell an oyster supplier how many oysters can be offered for sale. It gives a starting cabinet count. The useful buying question is: how many approved retail packs can customers purchase separately from this particular layout?
The WEIMI fresh oyster product page lists “40 lockers, customizable” and external dimensions of W166 × D71 × H217 cm. These are the published configuration details, not a drawing of the usable space inside each compartment. See the fresh oyster vending machine specification when requesting a quote.
Customization means the final locker count and sizes need to appear on the agreed drawing. External cabinet dimensions alone cannot establish whether a particular oyster tray will pass through the door or sit correctly inside.
A locker is a physical compartment. A pack is the closed tray, box or other retail package you load. An order is the quantity a customer pays to receive. Those three counts only become interchangeable when the agreed loading and release rules make them so.
For example, if a confirmed layout has 40 usable lockers, each holds one approved pack, and each purchase releases one locker containing that pack, a full load would offer 40 separately purchasable packs. This is a conditional example, not a verified capacity claim for every oyster package. The number of oysters would then depend on the contents declared for each pack.
Putting several packs behind one door does not automatically create several independent sales. If opening that door gives access to everything inside, the commercial unit may be the whole bundle. Ask the supplier to demonstrate the proposed release behavior before counting those packs as separate orders.
Send the supplier the finished package dimensions, including the lid, wrapping and any labels that extend beyond the tray. Identify each pack format you actually plan to sell. Request a layout showing which compartment accepts which format, the clear door opening and the usable internal dimensions.
For each compartment size, record the approved pack format, packs loaded, quantity released per purchase and number of independently saleable units. A photograph of a tray inside an open cabinet cannot confirm all of these points. Ask for a loading and customer collection demonstration using the final package.
The published Get Shucked in FNQ oyster vending project discusses different door sizes and package fit. It provides a practical reason to allocate real packages to a layout, but it does not establish that every oyster installation has 40 identical compartments.
The oyster product page also contains a general FAQ referring to snack and drink slots and a 270–540 item capacity. That description is not enough to establish an oyster locker capacity. Ask the quotation to identify the oyster cabinet configuration, compartment drawing and approved loading arrangement explicitly. Do not combine snack slot figures with the 40-locker table.
Likewise, a pack fitting inside a compartment does not establish its acceptable storage duration or refrigeration performance. Confirm the required operating conditions separately with the supplier and the responsible food business. This article does not verify those conditions.
Once the pack and release arrangement is agreed, keep the physical layout tied to the refill record. A count of occupied lockers can hide a different number of retail packs where pack formats or bundles vary. The oyster pack, batch and refill record guide covers the traceability side of that process.
For a capacity quote, provide your pack formats, intended quantity per purchase and desired stock mix. Ask for the resulting independently saleable pack count alongside the locker count. Get My Custom Quote with your finished package measurements so the proposed layout can be checked against what you intend to sell.
