WEIMI INSIGHTS / RETAIL PRESENTATION
Create a simple image and product-data process so customers can recognise the exact item they are buying.
EXACT
Use the stocked variant and pack size.
READABLE
Show the package clearly at screen size.
CURRENT
Update images when the product changes.
Treat a product image as part of the sales description and keep it linked to the same identifier used for stocking, pricing and transaction records.
01 / BUYER NOTES
Use the package the customer will receive, including its actual size and variant. A promotional image showing several items can be misleading when the selection sells only one. If a bundle is offered, show and describe the included contents clearly.
Keep a stable product identifier behind the image. Similar flavours, languages or pack sizes should not share an ambiguous file name. A tidy catalogue makes it easier for staff to choose the correct asset when adding or replacing a selection.
02 / BUYER NOTES
A detailed photograph can lose its useful information when reduced to a small product tile. Use a clear view, a simple background and sufficient space around the package. Review the image on the actual machine interface rather than judging it only on a large editing screen.
Do not rely on the picture to carry every essential detail. Keep the product name, pack size and price readable in text. Customers should be able to distinguish similar products even when the packaging artwork is difficult to see or colour differences are subtle.
03 / BUYER NOTES
Avoid retouching that changes the apparent quantity, contents or condition of the product. A clear photograph can improve the shopping experience without making the item look larger or more elaborate than it is. Use assets you have permission to publish.
For fresh products with natural variation, describe the offer accurately and use a representative image. Do not let a photograph imply a fixed assortment or garnish if the stocked product routinely differs. Review any required product information separately from the visual design.
04 / BUYER NOTES
When packaging changes, check the image, title, size and selection mapping together. The operator should not update the photograph while leaving the old description or price attached. Record the approved catalogue version and the date of the change.
After publishing the update, inspect the customer-facing screen and make an agreed purchase check where appropriate. Remote confirmation that a file uploaded is not the same as seeing the correct product in the correct selection. Keep an easy route for staff to report mismatched images during refill visits.
Keep: Product identifier, variant and pack size.
Match: The supplier item, refill list and machine selection.
Keep: Approved image, source permission and version.
Match: The exact retail unit shown to the customer.
Keep: Update date and reviewer.
Match: The live screen image, text, price and stocked package.
PRACTICAL ANSWERS
It may confuse customers if variants look similar or are selected separately. Use accurate images and clear text for each distinct offer.
Keeping price in the system’s normal price field generally makes updates easier to control. Avoid conflicting prices between artwork and transaction data.
Check permission and confirm that it represents the exact product you stock. Supplier availability does not automatically establish unrestricted reuse.
YOUR NEXT STEP
Share a product list with approved images and identifiers when setting up the machine. Review the customer screen and physical loading plan together so the offer remains consistent.
