WEIMI / MULTI-ITEM PAYMENT BRIEF
One first tap.
A basket that keeps growing.
Match the shopping session to the authorization path before buying a multi-item vending installation.
What amount is authorized first?
What happens when the basket goes beyond it?
Which record proves the final result?
FIELD NOTE 01
Introduction
A multi-item demonstration can hide a payment question. The customer taps once, chooses a drink, adds a snack and leaves with a larger basket than the starting amount allowed for. Product selection has worked. That does not establish whether the payment arrangement can authorize the higher total before completing the transaction. The purchasing team needs evidence of both parts of the journey.
For an offered Nayax integration, incremental authorization is one documented way to address a growing amount. Its availability depends on the actual provider arrangement and activation, rather than the mere presence of a card reader. A machine brochure promising multiple purchases does not, by itself, confirm this particular authorization feature.
This guide is for a buyer choosing equipment and a payment configuration together. It separates three questions: whether the retail format fits the products, whether the proposed payment path is eligible, and whether the final assembled installation demonstrates the agreed behavior. All acceptance scenarios below are proposed buyer checks, not reports of tests performed by WEIMI or by an independent laboratory.
FIELD NOTE 02
Quick Answer
If the amount can grow after the first authorization, ask the payment provider how additional value becomes authorized before settlement. Obtain written confirmation of eligibility, activation responsibility, the starting amount, the session rules and the response when an increase cannot be obtained. Require a demonstration that crosses the initial amount; a basket below that amount cannot demonstrate the incremental path.
Nayax describes incremental authorization as increasing an initial authorization before settlement. Its published tutorial currently names Credorax, Heartland and Chase as eligible billing providers and requires Nayax enablement. Treat those statements as the scope of that tutorial, checked on 21 October 2026. Have the provider confirm the exact merchant, country and machine arrangement in your quotation. They are not a compatibility promise for any WEIMI model.
The purchase decision is therefore a combination of equipment, service eligibility and witnessed transaction evidence. Keep a simpler confirmed payment flow available as a commercial alternative if the requested incremental arrangement is unavailable.
FIELD NOTE 03
Comparison Table
| Proposed payment approach | Question to put in the quote | Evidence before acceptance |
|---|---|---|
| One purchase with its amount known in advance | Is the amount established before authorization in the supplied flow? | An approved example connecting the chosen item, customer amount and payment result. |
| A fixed initial authorization for a session | What happens if the customer wants more than the starting amount covers? | A documented boundary and observed response when the session reaches it. |
| An explicitly supported incremental arrangement | Who enables it and how is an additional authorization evidenced? | An eligible account and machine, a growing-basket trial, and corresponding payment records. |
| A multi-item cabinet with payment flow still unspecified | Which of the above is actually being supplied? | A completed scope before treating multi-item retail as a payment capability. |
These are purchasing alternatives, not universal definitions of how every terminal behaves. Do not choose a large initial amount solely to avoid answering the session question. Ask the provider to explain the customer-facing amount and the consequences of that choice for the proposed service.
FIELD NOTE 04
Who Should Buy This
Use this review when a workplace operator, unattended retail owner or equipment distributor wants one session to cover several items and the final amount may be unknown at its start. It is especially relevant when the supplier offers incremental authorization by name. A procurement manager can turn that phrase into a defined deliverable rather than leaving it as an unexplained checkbox.
A buyer planning one known-price item per transaction may have a different requirement. Confirm the actual checkout sequence instead of purchasing an additional feature on the assumption that it improves every installation. Likewise, a cloud inventory feature and a multiple-purchase promotion do not establish the payment path needed for a changing basket.
Invite the party responsible for the payment account into the discussion before the equipment order is finalized. A cabinet manufacturer can describe selection and delivery, while the payment provider must confirm the service it will activate. Record who is responsible for the combined commissioning result.
FIELD NOTE 05
How We Evaluate Smart Vending Machines
We start with the proposed customer journey and trace the moment when its value becomes known. For a selection-based machine, that may be before an item is dispensed. For open-door retail, the chosen assortment may only be resolved later in the session. The exact sequence must come from the offered system; these format differences are reasons to ask questions, not assumptions about an installed payment implementation.
We then review the cabinet and payment evidence separately. The shortlist here is based on public WEIMI listings. It is not an independent performance ranking or a certification of compatibility with Nayax incremental authorization. No purchase, measured transaction success rate, field trial or revenue result is claimed.
For acceptance, request an ordinary session, a session that grows beyond the opening authorization and a controlled exception case approved by the provider. Tie each observation to the actual terminal, machine configuration and merchant service. A useful record makes it possible to distinguish a retail-selection problem from a payment-state problem without guessing from one screen.
FIELD NOTE 06
Key Buying Factors
Eligibility belongs to the named installation
Ask the provider to identify the billing-provider arrangement, enabled service, account owner and intended deployment. The public Nayax tutorial is evidence that a feature exists within its stated conditions. It is not evidence that an arbitrary merchant account already has access to it. Make any activation dependency and its owner visible before agreeing a launch date.
Amounts need field names and units
The tutorial distinguishes Default Credit entries in two parts of its interface and illustrates them with different unit conventions. That is a reason to request a configuration record with screen location, amount and unit together. Do not copy one number across similarly named fields or apply tutorial settings to live equipment without provider approval. The signed handover should show the intended monetary amount, not only a screenshot of a numeral.
Session behavior needs a stopping rule
The supplier should explain how the session closes, how an attempted increase is handled, and what the customer sees if the extra amount cannot be authorized. Ask what product access or dispensing is possible at that point. Agree the behavior in advance; do not infer it from the word incremental. Testing must use provider-approved methods and controlled stock, not a forced live failure with an unsuspecting customer.
Reporting must reveal the path
Nayax includes Dynamic Transactions Monitor reporting in its tutorial. For procurement, ask which available report fields demonstrate the opening authorization, subsequent adjustments and final outcome. Request a redacted acceptance sample and an explanation of its references. A single sales total is insufficient to explain how the authorized amount changed. Do not collect complete card credentials in the project file.
| Witnessed case | What the team should record | Buyer decision |
|---|---|---|
| Basket stays below the agreed opening amount | Products, customer total and final payment outcome | Does the ordinary journey meet the supplied specification? |
| Basket crosses the opening amount | The increase request and result, final basket and final outcome | Is the offered incremental behavior actually visible? |
| Increase is unavailable in a provider-approved test | Customer message, allowed product action and support record | Is the exception clear and consistent with the contract? |
| Session ends with no completed purchase | Observed customer journey and provider-explained payment state | Can staff explain the result using an agreed evidence route? |
FIELD NOTE 07
Best Smart Vending Machines
This is a procurement shortlist based on three public product listings verified on 21 October 2026. The best choice depends on the retail journey and a confirmed payment proposal. These products have not been independently tested for this guide, and none is represented as including the incremental feature by default.
A visible selection-led starting point
The WM22 listing describes a touchscreen snack-and-drink machine and multiple-item purchasing. Shortlist it when customers need to browse a menu and collect selected packages. Demonstrate the intended product mix and delivery sequence before discussing authorization refinements.
Payment question: If a payment proposal permits further choices after the first tap, ask whether those choices remain in the same session and how any increase is authorized. The listing alone does not establish Nayax eligibility or a particular settlement flow.
A basket resolved through open-door shopping
The single-door AI vision fridge is listed for packaged drinks and compatible snacks. Its published journey includes opening the cabinet, taking products and closing for checkout. It does not prepare fresh juice, despite its older URL. Validate actual packaging and multi-item recognition as part of equipment acceptance.
Payment question: Ask when the final basket is established and how its value relates to any opening authorization. Incremental authorization must be separately confirmed; neither an electronic lock nor cloud management proves support for it.
An assortment spread across two selling sections
The dual-cabinet station offers a main display and a secondary vending compartment. Consider it when the approved assortment benefits from those two product areas. Request actual lane, delivery and pickup trials for each section.
Payment question: Clarify whether choices from both sections can belong to one payment session or require separate transactions. Two cabinets do not establish one shared authorization, independent payment accounts or any particular payment-provider integration.
FIELD NOTE 08
Feature Comparison
| Retail format | Format information supported by the listing | Additional confirmation needed |
|---|---|---|
| WM22 touchscreen snack and drink machine | Menu-led selection and a listed multiple-purchase function. | Exact session sequence, selected payment integration and authorization evidence. |
| Single-door AI vision fridge | Open-door selection of compatible packaged products and automated checkout. | When the amount is resolved, exception handling and the final payment configuration. |
| Dual-cabinet station | Main product area plus a secondary visible vending compartment. | Whether cross-cabinet choices share a session, and how each delivery links to payment. |
No comparative authorization speed, failure rate, card coverage, fee or installed price is established by these listings. Obtain configuration-specific offers and assess them on the same agreed acceptance cases. Do not treat the absence of a detail on a public page as proof that the supplier can or cannot provide it.
FIELD NOTE 09
Cost & ROI Analysis
Price the full proposal: equipment, payment hardware, account setup, any feature activation or integration work, commissioning, training and ongoing services. Ask the provider which transaction or service charges could be affected by the proposed flow. This guide does not supply a tariff or suggest that additional authorization requests are free.
Illustrative assumptions only, in USD: suppose the optional configuration and its acceptance work cost $600 more than a confirmed alternative. Assume ongoing incremental costs are $15 per month. If the operator later measures 80 additional completed baskets per month that would otherwise have been lost, and each produces $0.90 contribution after product and variable selling costs, the assumed monthly benefit is 80 × $0.90 = $72. Net of the assumed $15, that leaves $57 per month. Simple recovery of the assumed $600 is about 10.5 months.
The important input is the measured number of genuinely additional completed baskets. An authorization adjustment is not itself an extra sale. Do not count every multi-item transaction as incremental revenue or attribute all basket growth to a payment feature. Establish an appropriate comparison with the operator and payment provider; demand, assortment and the shopping interface may change the result.
At 30 additional baskets under the same assumptions, net monthly benefit would be $27 − $15 = $12, giving a 50-month simple recovery. At zero additional baskets there is no positive recovery under this example. These calculations exclude financing, tax and other project costs. Replace every assumed input with the actual quote and evidence before making an investment decision.
FIELD NOTE 10
Best Choice by Scenario
A menu-led snack-and-drink pilot: start with the WM22 format if its selection and dispensing journey suits the assortment. Establish whether customers complete each known-price purchase or may continue adding items after the initial payment step. Buy the simplest confirmed flow that meets the project need.
Packaged products selected through an open door: discuss the AI vision fridge when direct browsing suits the store concept. Give equal attention to recognition and the payment boundary. A correct basket and an authorized amount must be connected by an explicit, supported process.
A broader assortment across two cabinets: consider the dual-cabinet station when the site can service both sections. Set a cross-cabinet acceptance case if one combined transaction is being offered. If the proposal instead uses separate transactions, assess that experience on its own terms.
An account without confirmed incremental eligibility: retain the cabinet shortlist, but request a supported payment alternative before placing an integration-dependent order. An unconfirmed checkbox is not a reason to assume the entire retail project is impossible.
FIELD NOTE 11
Applications
At a workplace break point, a customer may choose a drink and then decide to add food. The acceptance script should reflect that sequence when the proposed system allows it. Use the approved price list and record when each item becomes part of the session. The value of the exercise is to expose an otherwise hidden payment boundary, not to predict staff spending.
At a managed residential or hotel retail point, operations staff may not be present when a shopper asks about an apparent authorization amount. Prepare concise support wording approved by the payment provider and a way to identify the transaction without requesting full card details. The staff explanation should match what the installed service actually does.
For distributors commissioning a small fleet, retain a configuration and acceptance record for each relevant combination of equipment and payment arrangement. A successful example from one account or one cabinet is not evidence for every subsequent installation. Repeat the relevant checks after material changes to the agreed flow.
FIELD NOTE 12
FAQ
Is incremental authorization the same as partial authorization?
No. This guide concerns increasing an existing authorization before settlement when the final amount grows. A proposal involving approval of only part of a requested amount raises a different question about the unpaid remainder. Ask the provider to identify the offered feature precisely.
Does a multiple-purchase machine automatically include it?
No such conclusion follows from the public listings used here. Multiple-item shopping is a retail function. The proposed payment service and its eligibility require separate confirmation.
Can the operator just enable the checkbox?
Nayax states that its feature must first be enabled by Nayax and identifies billing-provider prerequisites in the current tutorial. Have authorized provider personnel confirm the intended setup rather than experimenting on live payment equipment.
Why test above the initial amount?
A basket that stays within the opening amount does not exercise the increase path. A provider-approved crossing case lets the team observe whether the additional authorization and final outcome match the offer.
Should every machine use the example amounts in the tutorial?
No. Tutorial numbers illustrate fields and units, not an appropriate commercial limit for your site. Agree the amount, currency, session rules and customer communication for the actual project.
Does an approved increase prove that the whole project is accepted?
It establishes only the observed part of that test. Product delivery or recognition, final payment records, customer messaging and the support process still need to meet the agreed specification.
FIELD NOTE 13
Final Recommendation
Select the retail format first, then insist that the payment offer explains how its amount follows the shopping session. Where the basket can grow beyond the initial authorization, obtain a named supported flow and a witnessed crossing case. Do not let a successful first tap stand in for evidence of the completed transaction.
The best proposal connects an eligible account, an agreed configuration, a clear exception response and readable final records to the exact equipment being ordered. That is a stronger basis for acceptance than a generic cashless-payment statement or an unqualified promise of larger baskets.
