PPE Vending for Temporary Workers: Set an Access Start and End Point

A process for visitors and contractors that does not assume permanent employee credentials.

Temporary staff and contractors may need approved protective equipment before they receive normal workplace credentials. Design their supply process explicitly instead of assuming the permanent employee route covers every arrival.

Establish responsibility before arrival

The relevant site teams should determine who provides the required PPE, who confirms training and who authorizes access. These responsibilities may depend on the work arrangement. Equipment access must not be treated as proof of competence or permission to enter a hazardous area.

Ask the supplier which identification and authorization arrangements are supported by the proposed configuration. Do not infer temporary accounts, visitor codes or badge integration without confirmation.

Cover the first issue

Decide where a new arrival obtains the approved items and who can resolve an access problem. Align instructions with induction and the site's safety process. Have an alternative supply route when the normal system cannot be used.

Limit the information collected to what the authorized process requires. Agree who maintains temporary access and how its end is recorded under the buyer's policies.

Review the departure handover

When an assignment ends, follow the documented procedure for access changes and any reusable equipment. Disposable and reusable products need different handling rules established by the responsible team. Include temporary personnel in the commissioning demonstration and discuss the required access scope with WEIMI before treating it as an included feature.
