The Badge Must Match the Model: ENERGY STAR Vending Procurement Guide

Three official listing references, exact-model evidence and an energy clause buyers can verify.

WEIMI / EQUIPMENT EVIDENCE SERIES

One badge.
One model file.
A clearer purchase.

Official ENERGY STAR records are the starting point. Match the delivered equipment before accepting the energy clause.

PROCUREMENT FILE / 01

Introduction

An institutional vending tender can fail at the model-identification stage, before anyone compares payment software or cabinet styling. The buyer asks for ENERGY STAR certified equipment, while the quote supplies a family name, an efficiency adjective or a photograph of a badge. None of those gives the procurement reviewer a complete link between the official record and the machine that will arrive.

This buying brief addresses that precise decision: how to build an ENERGY STAR evidence file for refrigerated beverage and combination vending procurement. It uses three publicly listed models from different ENERGY STAR partners as a documentary shortlist. These are reference candidates for supplier discussions, not machines tested by WEIMI, a universal ranking or a claim that WEIMI distributes them.

The official Product Finder was checked on 8 October 2026. It exposes both new beverage and new combination vending entries, with model identifiers, expected-use conditions, energy figures and market fields. A separate key-criteria summary presents Class A and Class B equations without explaining the combination entries shown in the current finder. This article therefore does not turn that summary into a current eligibility calculation or exclude all combination machines. Use the applicable specification and certification record for the exact proposal.

Quick Answer

For a tender that requires ENERGY STAR, start with an official matching model record and its unique ID. Match the quoted designation, family suffix, market and expected-use condition before comparing price. Record the check date and retain the source link. If the proposed model cannot be matched, mark the certification gate unresolved rather than treating a component claim or a similar-looking cabinet as acceptance.

The three reference candidates are The Wittern Group TKO2 COMBO, model 3650; Innovative DisplayWorks G-28PW-*E35B; and Sanden Vendo SVE UC6-HD. All three detail pages display ENERGY STAR Certified: Yes and Indoor Only. Their layouts and listed capacities differ. Choose a functional route first, then obtain the commercial offer and verify its exact identity.

No ENERGY STAR certification for a WEIMI model is established by this brief. A WEIMI custom machine or AI retail fridge may be considered for a project with flexible equipment criteria, but it cannot be represented as satisfying a mandatory ENERGY STAR gate without its own matching evidence.

Comparison Table

The figures below are transcribed from the official results interface observed on the research date. The detail pages display rounded daily-energy values of 2.1, 2.4 and 2.5 respectively; the results list shows 2.08, 2.43 and 2.51. Preserve the source and precision used in a calculation. This display difference is not evidence of different machines or a measured performance change.

Official reference Listed type / front Listed energy & capacity Market / unique ID
TKO2 COMBO / 3650 Combination B / Closed Front 2.08 kWh/day; 136 standard products United States, Canada / 4529088
G-28PW-*E35B Class A / Glass Front 2.43 kWh/day; 378 standard products United States / 4509986
SVE UC6-HD Class A / Glass Front 2.51 kWh/day; 180 standard products United States, Canada / 3998106

All three detail records show R-290 and Indoor Only. Capacity means the maximum quantity of standard product under the stated listing definition, not an assurance that your larger bottles, cartons or snack packs fit. Listed market availability is not proof of local stock, import approval or an installer serving your address.

Who Should Buy This

This process is useful for facilities teams replacing a drinks fleet, education or workplace buyers preparing an equipment schedule, and operators bidding for a contract whose energy clause names ENERGY STAR. It is especially valuable when purchasing and operations use different model names: one team holds a tender spreadsheet while another discusses a supplier’s branded sales brochure.

Decide who owns the cabinet and who pays for electricity. A host may ask an operator to supply certified equipment even when the host never buys a machine directly. The official buying guidance recommends requesting ENERGY STAR machines in the next request for proposals when a beverage contract is approaching expiry. Convert that preference into evidence and acceptance language agreed by your procurement team.

For international readers, treat this as a North American listing workflow with useful evidence-management lessons. It does not establish a requirement in every country. If your project instead specifies another national scheme, electrical approval or environmental reporting method, request the corresponding evidence separately. ENERGY STAR is not a substitute for every market-entry or safety document.

How We Evaluate Smart Vending Machines

Our evaluation here is a desk review of official public records, with no laboratory testing, field trial, supplier quotation or customer-revenue data. We selected three identifiable records from three different partners so a buyer can compare documentary scope and configuration questions without mistaking a single manufacturer’s multiple marketing names for independent alternatives.

Four documentary checks

Identity: capture the partner, full model number, any model name and ENERGY STAR unique ID. Scope: read the product type and additional model information. Use: carry forward indoor status and the listed markets. Commercial match: ask the seller to connect these fields to the actual quote and delivered nameplate. The final check is a buyer task; it has not been completed for these reference candidates.

The finder explains that a unique ID identifies a model or set of models with unique performance characteristics and is tied to both the model and specification version. Retain that ID even when a reseller renames its catalogue page. It gives the reviewer a more stable reference than a cabinet photograph.

We do not score cashless payments, telemetry, AI recognition, screen size, warranty or service response because the records used here do not establish those features. A listed energy value earns a place in the evidence file; it does not earn an invented overall quality score.

Key Buying Factors

Write a usable model-matching clause

Ask for the official listing URL and unique ID with the offer, then require the supplier to identify any suffix or private-label difference in writing. A practical bid worksheet should have separate cells for quoted model, official model, unresolved variation and acceptance owner. Do not leave the reviewer to infer that “equivalent” means the same certified configuration.

Treat family notation as a defined boundary

The G-28PW-*E35B detail record states that the asterisk can be A–Z, a–z or blank for product appearance and similar changes. This provides a specific mapping question for the supplier. It does not allow a buyer to replace every suffix, refrigerant system or cabinet size freely. Retain the record’s exact wording and ask how the offered unit fits it.

Keep operating suitability alongside the badge

Every shortlisted detail page says Indoor Only. An entrance canopy, exposed loading bay or humid pool area needs its own suitability review; the listing does not turn these machines into outdoor units. Confirm access, clearances, power supply, ventilation, service support and product fit through supplier documentation and the proposed installation plan.

Separate energy mode from stock protection

The official product page describes low power modes for lighting and/or refrigeration during inactivity. That broad statement does not tell you the shortlisted machine’s schedule or authorize a temperature change for every food product. Ask how the supplied control operates and review it against the actual stock’s storage requirements. A fleet energy policy should not silently override the food operator’s temperature procedure.

Best Smart Vending Machines

“Best” here means the best route into a procurement conversation for the stated requirement. The following three cards are an official-listing shortlist, not an independent test, endorsement or assertion of availability from WEIMI.

01 / The Wittern Group TKO2 COMBO — model 3650

Start here when the procurement brief asks for a combination vending format and a matching certification record. The detail page labels it Combination B with a closed front. It lists 136 standard products, 10.2 cubic feet of refrigerated volume, R-290, Indoor Only and United States/Canada markets. The unique ID is 4529088.

Its result-list daily energy figure is the lowest among these three entries, but it also has a different product type and listed capacity. That does not establish the lowest cost per customer served or the most useful assortment. Obtain the actual beverage/non-beverage layout, pack-compatibility evidence and refill plan before preferring it for a mixed-stock site.

Official TKO2 COMBO record

02 / Innovative DisplayWorks G-28PW-*E35B

This record is a useful reference when a beverage-only glass-front format and a larger listed standard-product capacity are central to the brief. It is Class A, Glass Front, Indoor Only, with capacity 378 and refrigerated volume 23.6 cubic feet. The detail page identifies United States as its market, R-290 as its refrigerant and 4509986 as its unique ID.

The asterisk is part of the model evidence. Obtain the full designation that will appear on the order and explain its mapping to the listing’s additional model information. Do not infer Canadian market coverage from another manufacturer’s entry, or assume a large listed capacity fits every bottle profile. The source does not establish payment integrations or a remote inventory platform.

Official G-28PW-*E35B record

03 / Sanden Vendo SVE UC6-HD

Consider this reference when the brief calls for an indoor glass-front beverage machine and the supplier can quote the exact SVE UC6-HD designation. The official record lists Class A, capacity 180 standard products, refrigerated volume 17.8 cubic feet, R-290 and United States/Canada markets. Its unique ID is 3998106.

Its result-list energy figure of 2.51 kWh/day is slightly above the IDW entry’s 2.43, but the listed capacities differ substantially. A buyer should not reject it solely for that small daily-energy difference without checking footprint, vendable pack range, service coverage and total delivered cost. Those commercial and functional facts remain to be obtained from the seller.

Feature Comparison

Procurement feature What the records establish What still needs a supplier answer
Energy certification All three detail pages display Certified: Yes Exact offered designation, order configuration and delivered identity
Assortment route TKO2 is Combination B; IDW and Sanden references are Class A Actual compartment arrangement, selected products and dispensing compatibility
Use condition All three display Indoor Only Site ventilation, clearances, power and environmental suitability
Connectivity and payments Not established by these records Processor, currency, network, software fees and offline behaviour
Service and warranty Not established by these records Coverage area, spare parts, exclusions and response terms

A missing feature is an unanswered procurement question, not evidence that the product lacks the feature. Use the same supplier questionnaire for all bids, but preserve the difference between an official certification field, a seller’s claim and a witnessed acceptance result.

Cost & ROI Analysis

ENERGY STAR evidence can satisfy a tender condition; it does not supply a purchase price or a project ROI. The following arithmetic is explicitly hypothetical. Assume ten machines, 365 operating days and a constant electricity price of US$0.20/kWh, with no demand charges or tax. Applying the result-list daily figures as budgeting inputs gives the illustrative energy-only costs below.

Reference input One unit per year Ten units per year
2.08 kWh/day 759.2 kWh / US$151.84 US$1,518.40
2.43 kWh/day 886.95 kWh / US$177.39 US$1,773.90
2.51 kWh/day 916.15 kWh / US$183.23 US$1,832.30

The ten-unit difference between the last two inputs is US$58.40 per year under those assumptions. This illustrates why a tiny listed energy gap should not overshadow a service fee or an unsuitable stock plan. It is not a forecast for a real installation: usage, ambient conditions, settings and the delivered configuration can affect electricity consumption.

For an energy-only upgrade example, suppose an eligible like-for-like replacement costs US$600 extra and a separately supported comparison gives a 1 kWh/day reduction. At the assumed tariff, the reduction is US$73 per year and simple energy-only payback is about 8.2 years. The premium and reduction are invented scenario inputs, not quotes or measured savings for any shortlisted product.

Build the actual investment model from equipment, delivery, installation, payment fees, software, servicing, refill labour and product margin. Do not add a rebate until the programme sponsor confirms the exact model, location, applicant and purchase date. Do not count a certification preference as new sales revenue. A machine can satisfy the energy clause and still be a poor commercial fit.

Best Choice by Scenario

Mandatory certification and a mixed assortment

Begin with the TKO2 COMBO evidence route, then check the actual compartment and pack arrangement with the supplier. The Combination B record makes it a relevant reference, but does not confirm your snack mix or every cold-storage need. Keep the certification and assortment decisions as separate acceptance items.

Indoor beverage capacity is the main constraint

The IDW entry offers the highest listed standard-product capacity of these references. Use it as a starting point for a capacity discussion, then map your bottle dimensions and refill interval to a supplier-approved loading plan. A larger nominal capacity is useful only when the intended products and installation fit.

An indoor beverage proposal with US/Canada listing fields

The Sanden Vendo reference merits review where those market fields and the exact designation align with the project. Confirm local availability and after-sales coverage directly. The listing’s country field does not promise a distributor in every region.

An AI fridge or custom format is the priority

Write down whether ENERGY STAR is mandatory or optional before exploring a custom WEIMI proposal. If mandatory, an unverified candidate remains unresolved at that gate. If optional, compare the functional proposal and configuration-specific energy evidence openly; do not rename that evidence as certification.

PROCUREMENT FILE / 11

Applications

In a workplace beverage contract, attach the approved model schedule to the operator’s installation list. Check replacements against that schedule when a cabinet fails. Otherwise, a certified initial fleet may gradually change through undocumented substitutions, leaving purchasing with a list that no longer describes the site.

For a campus rollout across several indoor buildings, record model identities per location rather than using one badge photograph for the entire fleet. The site record should identify the cabinet, listing reference, intended stock and responsible service party. Consolidate energy budgets only after checking that the fleet quantities and inputs are consistent.

For a pilot in a mixed retail corner, observe the customer journey and refill workload as well as electricity. These listing records do not establish AI checkout, loss prevention or telemetry. If those functions are required, procure and test them explicitly. Energy certification should make one decision clearer rather than concealing other unfinished decisions.

At delivery, compare the machine’s designation with the approved quote, retain the relevant identifying evidence and resolve any mismatch before accepting a substitution. Recheck affected evidence when the proposed refrigeration configuration or model changes. Ask the supplier how modifications affect the certified configuration; do not decide that question from appearance alone.

FAQ

Does a certified compressor make the whole vending machine ENERGY STAR certified?

No whole-machine certification is established by a component claim. Ask for a matching official vending-machine model record and its unique ID. Keep any component efficiency information separate.

Are combination vending machines automatically outside ENERGY STAR?

No. The current finder observed for this brief includes new combination entries, including the TKO2 record. Use the applicable current specification and exact record rather than extending an incomplete summary to every format.

Why do the results and detail pages show slightly different energy numbers?

The observed results list uses 2.08, 2.43 and 2.51 kWh/day while the detail pages display 2.1, 2.4 and 2.5. Record the interface and precision used. Do not treat these displays as separate test results.

Can the daily-energy number guarantee my utility bill?

No. It is a listed daily consumption field, not a promise for your site. A budget needs the tariff and operating assumptions; an actual consumption review needs measurements tied to the installed configuration.

Does Indoor Only cover a sheltered outdoor location?

These records do not establish outdoor suitability. Ask for equipment expressly suitable for the proposed environment and review installation conditions with the supplier. A canopy does not change the listed condition.

Are WEIMI machines certified because this is a WEIMI buying guide?

This brief establishes no ENERGY STAR certification for a WEIMI model and no distribution relationship for the three references. Request exact certification evidence for any proposal that must meet that procurement requirement.

PROCUREMENT FILE / 13

Final Recommendation

Approve the evidence route before approving the preferred cabinet. If ENERGY STAR is mandatory, the procurement file should connect the official record to the offered model and delivered unit, with any suffix mapping resolved. Then compare product fit, installation, service and total cost. The three official references in this brief supply starting points for that work; they do not complete it.

For a flexible specification, keep custom-machine discussions honest about what has and has not been verified. A model-specific measured energy report can be useful, but it does not automatically confer certification. Equally, a certified record does not answer every question about a smart retail experience.

CTA

Send WEIMI your target country, indoor site plan, beverage and snack pack sizes, quantity, payment requirements and the exact energy clause from your equipment brief. State whether ENERGY STAR is mandatory or optional. Ask for a configuration-specific proposal that identifies supported functions, model evidence and unresolved requirements separately.

Discuss your equipment evidence brief →

If certification is compulsory, request the matching official record before treating a WEIMI proposal as eligible. A useful quotation makes that boundary visible from the start.
