WEIMI INSIGHTS / CUSTOM CONFIGURATION • PHASED OPTIONS
Keep a simpler first build compatible with a planned display by confirming mounting, power, software and installation work in advance.
FIRST BUILD
Document how the machine works without the optional display.
PROVISION
Identify the supported mounting and connection requirements.
UPGRADE
Define the later work and revalidation needed.
“Can be added later” should describe a specific supported process. Confirm the exact option and required provisions before treating it as part of the machine’s future capability.
01 / BUYER NOTES
Identify the screen you want to omit. An advertising display and the interface required to select products or complete a transaction are different components. Ask the supplier to explain which functions remain available in the first configuration.
Review the customer journey without the optional display. A logo panel or simple branded front may still need clear selection, payment and support information. Do not remove a component based only on appearance without confirming its role in the proposed system.
Record the first build as a complete usable configuration. The machine should not depend on an unspecified future screen to explain basic operation. Test the initial customer flow under the exact hardware and software arrangement being ordered.
02 / BUYER NOTES
Ask which display model or specification the cabinet is intended to accept later. A reserved rectangle on a rendering does not establish mounting compatibility. Request the relevant drawing and identify any brackets, panels or protective components needed for the option.
Clarify whether the first cabinet includes the required provisions or whether parts must be replaced during the upgrade. A later front-panel change may be acceptable, but it should be a known task with a practical service plan rather than an unexpected modification.
Review how the upgrade affects access, ventilation and the final appearance. The display should not obscure equipment labels or service points. Keep the option within the supplier-supported design and obtain appropriate technical review for changes to the complete assembly.
03 / BUYER NOTES
Ask how the future screen will be powered and connected under the proposed design. Identify whether it needs a separate player, network connection or controller interface. Do not assume the existing touchscreen computer can run an additional display simply because it has an unused connector.
Clarify what software or service is needed for content management. Playback, remote scheduling and fleet management are different functions. Record which are included with the future option and which may require a separate subscription or provider arrangement.
Keep the display’s job explicit. Adding an advertising screen should not silently change the transaction workflow unless that change has been designed and tested. If the future plan includes customer interaction, assess it as a functional upgrade rather than a media-only addition.
04 / BUYER NOTES
Ask whether the upgrade can be completed by a qualified local partner under supplied instructions or requires another service arrangement. Identify the parts, documentation and support that will be available. A factory capability does not automatically establish a practical field-installation route.
Estimate the service interruption and preparation needed using the supplier’s actual procedure. The operator may need to empty or isolate the machine and arrange site access. Keep the work coordinated with the venue rather than promising an instant upgrade based on a design image.
After installation, test the relevant electrical, software and customer functions through the approved process. Confirm that the original vending flow still works and that media updates behave as intended. A screen lighting up is not a complete acceptance test for the changed configuration.
05 / BUYER NOTES
Retain the first-build configuration and the agreed upgrade specification together. Components and software can change over time, so reconfirm availability and compatibility before purchasing the later option. Do not assume an old informal estimate guarantees the same parts indefinitely.
Review costs on a complete scope, including hardware, installation and any service charges. Deferring a feature can change the total work compared with factory installation. Choose the timing based on the business need and the confirmed upgrade process rather than a universal assumption that later is cheaper.
Tell WEIMI which functions are needed at launch and which are genuinely planned for a later phase. Request a written distinction between included provisions and unconfirmed future development. This makes the first order clear while preserving only the expansion options that have actually been assessed.
Means: The concept shows an area for a display.
Still needs: Technical mounting and connection confirmation.
Means: Defined components or interfaces are prepared.
Still needs: The specified display and approved installation.
Means: Parts, instructions and service scope are identified.
Still needs: Current compatibility confirmation and commissioning.
PRACTICAL ANSWERS
No. Size alone does not establish mounting, power, software or service compatibility. Use the supplier-supported option.
Not necessarily. Ask which technical provisions are actually included and what work remains for installation.
Yes. Check the current parts and software against the original machine configuration before ordering.
